I found your website through this: https://sdpreparedness.com/about/. Would it be possible to meet and talk?

Hi ,
I woke up today and read the news about the hurricane emergency currently affecting Florida, which made me even more aware of how critical it is to be prepared for natural disasters. Every day, we hear about various disasters impacting communities around the world, and this reality has made me increasingly anxious, prompting me to seek guidance on how to survive such situations.
For that reason, I decided to do a bit of research and I discovered a comprehensive natural disaster guide that I thought you might find interesting: https://www.wizcase.com/blog/natural-disasters-guide-and-resources/. It’s packed with information and practical tips for individuals and communities about how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from different types of natural disasters.
I believe this guide would be a valuable addition to your article and would help more people take proactive measures in the face of natural disasters if you decide to add it here: https://sdvoad.org/
Together, we can make a real difference.
Take care,
Dave

Our approach is thorough and adaptable, designed to meet the varied needs of the community. We offer immediate help to those in crisis, continuous mental health care, conflict de-escalation, and facilitate support groups for collective healing. By engaging with community organizations, we create a network of care essential for comprehensive support.

We do have a large SUV that we can use to deliver, however we would need assistance getting it into our vehicle. Thank you for any guidance you are able to give us. I am also contacting the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA. An initial text to me would work better than a phone call, please, and then we can switch over to a phone call. Hi, San Diego Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster,

I hope you’re well.

My name is Omar Segura from The Mesothelioma Center’s Outreach Department.

I came across your website https://sdvoad.org/2024-winter-storms/ and saw you shared some valuable resources and I was hoping you could share ours as well.

Given the increasing occurrences of natural disasters like wildfires, hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes, it’s crucial to address the potential hazards they pose to homes. Asbestos, once commonly used in construction, can be released during these events, leading to serious health risks like mesothelioma cancer.

To spread accurate information, we’ve created guides on asbestos risks during disasters and mesothelioma symptoms:

Asbestos Risks During Natural Disasters: asbestos.com/asbestos/natural-disasters/
Understanding Mesothelioma Symptoms: asbestos.com/mesothelioma/symptoms/

Would you consider sharing this information on your website? Your support could save lives and raise awareness about these critical health concerns.

I’m keen to hear your thoughts.

Thank you for your consideration.

Warm regards,

Hi Valerie,

I’m Michelle with Mission Edge where I work as a Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist. Right now I am working with SDGE to organize volunteer projects for their summer interns. I am reaching out to you because I found San Diego Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster during my search and I think you might be a great fit because you align with SDGE’s Social Impact Pillar of emergency preparedness.

What is this project?
For this project we will pair San Diego Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster with a team of five to six SDGE interns to tackle and complete a project of your choosing. SDG&E is implementing this program to incorporate volunteering into their internship experience. Over the course of four weeks this summer, those interns will complete a project for your nonprofit as the volunteering component of their internship.

In short: you tell us the project you’d love to get done and we will give you the people and the project management to get it done.

If you are interested, here a few things I’d like you to see:
-Informational Webinar Sign Up: We highly recommend you sign up to learn more about this opportunity via a quick webinar on Friday, April 12th, 2024 at 10:00 AM PST. (I can send the link in a separate email).
-Project Submission Form: I can send this form link in a separate email.

Please note that proposals will be considered on a rolling basis and all proposals are due before close of business April 26th, 2024.

Thank you for considering this opportunity, and we look forward to the possibility of working together to create a meaningful and rewarding experience for interns and your organization alike.

Thank you,
Michelle

Hello! I work for a non-profit organization, ElderHelp of San Diego, that has just been given permission to expand a grant we received to help seniors impacted by the 1/22 flood. We are now giving a direct payment of $2,000 to flood victims over the age of 60. We have flyers with all the information and wanted to share with your organization so that you can share as you see fit. Please reach out to me to get the flyers or with any questions. Thank you!

Hi Valeri,
Very excited to find your organization. Recently becoming involved with improving disaster preparedness in Ramona. Observing that evacuation routes have insufficient traffic capacity for all evacuee’s multi-vehicle homes to transit in a safe time. Of course, Ramonans will eventually merge with other community traffic down the hill. Seeking research on evacuation triage to limit vehicles. Concerned schools may have inadequate bus supply in a school-time event. Would appreciate resources you may have on community efforts to address roles less covered by larger organizations. I have been in contact with Red Cross, CERT, FEMA, OES, Fire Safe Council.
Thank you,
