Thank you all for your efforts! SDVOAD has four immediate needs right now, so please share the below information with your networks.

We still need volunteers to help staff the SDVOAD table at the Local Assistance Center in Spring Valley. Anyone interested in volunteering should complete this form to cover a shift. We so appreciate UMCOR, Southern Baptists, and our very own FEMA VAL John Chavez for staffing the table to connect disaster impacted SD residents with our VOAD members' services! The Local Assistance Center (LAC) is located at the Spring Valley Library (836 Kempton St, Spring Valley, CA 91977). Volunteers needed for Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

First priority, we want to identify homes damaged, and connect those homeowners who need volunteer assistance in cleaning up to Crisis Cleanup's San Diego Flooding Hotline. Please share this information, link here. We will have printed handbills and door hangers at the LAC beginning today for organizations willing to canvass door to door in impacted neighborhoods (once we have our mapping confirmed to avoid duplication of effort).

Second, and closely related to Crisis Cleanup is sharing information on mold remediation from NVOAD member SBP to help homeowners prevent further damage.

Thank you!

Thank you all for your efforts! Monday's meeting was very productive, with many partners assisting throughout the region with sheltering, assessments, muckouts, cleanup, sandbagging, and helping with basic needs. The SDVOAD table saw 100+ households on Day 1 and the numbers are staying steady.

We appreciate the amazing work of the American Red Cross damage assessment team, we're now getting a picture of the extent of the damage. These results are not complete, there are many more assessments to be completed, but their teams are working tirelessly to capture this information for our situational awareness. (Red Cross assessments as of last night pictured below)
