Individuals and families affected by the recent severe winter storms in San Diego County may be eligible to receive Disaster CalFresh food benefits as part of continuing disaster recovery efforts. Households may apply between March 11-15, 2024, by calling their local county social services office (866-262-9881), submitting a paper application, or submitting a pre-registration online at BenefitsCal. Residents and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can also apply for assistance at: www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), or by using the FEMA App.
You can also register for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA), now available to San Diego County workers impacted by severe winter storms, at the DRC or use EDD’s UI Online application, which is available in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese. DUA benefit claims for individuals from San Diego County must be filed by April 2, 2024.
Cal OES and FEMA are hosting a web-based Whole Community Recovery Workshop on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 10:00am – 12:00pm to assist individuals with access and functional needs in San Diego County who were impacted by the severe storm and flooding from January 21-23, 2024.
